Know More About Us
Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), formerly known as Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), was established in 2002 as a technical university. The university is renowned for its engineering and technology-based programmes, including high-level Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses. UMPSA’s rebranding in 2023 reflects its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and producing graduates who contribute significantly to national development. This change, supported by the Sultan of Pahang, further strengthens the university's reputation as a leader in technology-focused education.
UMPSA has made significant strides in research and innovation, ranking among the top universities in Malaysia’s Technical University Network (MTUN) and Non-Research University (Non-RU) categories. The university has implemented unique academic programmes, including ten dual degree collaborations with international universities such as Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences in Germany, BJTU in China, and Hanyang University in South Korea. Through these partnerships and its strong research focus, UMPSA continues to foster industry-related research collaborations that enhance both education and the commercialization of research outputs.
